Meet Chris Moredock
With over 32 years of professional dog training experience, Chris Moredock founded American Canine Training in 1996 with one mission: to foster positive, balanced, and lasting relationships between dogs and their owners.
Chris recently expanded his training services to Phoenix, Arizona, bringing his trusted expertise and compassionate approach to new communities. His methods have transformed thousands of dogs, from rambunctious puppies to challenging adult cases, into well-mannered, confident companions.

I have worked with Chris over the last 12 years and five rescue dogs. He has helped me learn how to work with them and to be able to take them anywhere and everywhere. All of my dogs have been like kids to me.
When a dog knows what you are looking for out of them they become a much better dog. Chris helps you get that connection with your dog. Getting your dog to "down stay" for long durations really keeps your dog focused on you and off of the rest of the environment. This alone has helped me be able to take my dogs to many places.
I have recommended him to many of my friends and coworkers, and they have all said he has really helped them with getting an understanding of the dog they have.

Chris is not just our trainer ... he has become like family. I have three large, high energy, adolescent dogs and to say they are a handful is an understatement. Between the free group classes at Fiesta Island and my private sessions at my house with Chris I am now able to relax and enjoy my pack.
Watching Chris's methods work is so encouraging! He calls and texts to check in with me all the time and anytime I have an issue he calls to offer new techniques to try! He charges a fraction of what he's worth and I think it's because you are not a number to him.

I have been working with Chris since June of 2023. We have had somewhere around 20-24 sessions with him. He has helped create a mobility/stability service dog for me. We meet in public locations, parks, at my residence and in neighborhoods. Working with the environment and in crowds.
He has attended medical appointments with me as well. My one year old Collie has been approved by the SD Humane Society as a Service Mobility dog in training with all the rights and access of a service dog in the state of California. We will continue to work with Chris until the pup is 18 months old, when he will likely be given his full status as a service dog by the SD Humane Society.
Chris has 30 plus years experience with every type of dog and situtaion. My dog gets so excited when he sees the blue truck pull up.
